The toaster that's faster than a Ferrari

Making toast will soon take you half the time thanks to food giant Heinz.

The company has developed a turbo-powered gadget that beats a Ferrari in speed.

The device churns out perfect slices of toast in 50 seconds flat. This means that it is 92 seconds faster than any normal model on the market.

As for how it manages to do so, well the secret likes in its titanium fans that spin at 10,000 rpm that blast the bread with hot air.

Compared to this, a Ferrari Enzo's top revs are at 7,800rpm.

The toaster was designed by 24-year-old former art student Oliver Newberry who said that he came up with it 'out of sheer frustration'.

"The design came out of sheer frustration. Normally by the time my toast was ready the beans had gone cold," the Mirror quoted him, as saying.

Heinz hopes to have the toaster up for sale on shelves in about a year.
